The Queen Anne bath

A primary bath with a tub nobody used, rebuilt around a walk-in shower and an oak vanity.

Oak vanity with a stone-fronted basin and two wall sconces

The problem

The bath had a jetted tub that had not run in years, a shower stall too small to turn around in, and no storage. The owners wanted one generous shower, a vanity with drawers, and a room that would still work in twenty years.

What we changed

  • Tub removed for a curbless walk-in shower
  • Full waterproofing membrane, inspected before tile
  • Oak vanity built in a local shop
  • Fan vented outside on a humidity switch
  • Blocking for future grab bars
